906.482.7205 ext. 114

Alanna started at the WUPPDR office as a GIS Technician in January of 2019. Her focus is on all things “maps” including infrastructure and utilities projects, assisting with hazard mitigation planning, and GIS data administration.
She joins the WUPPDR team with a wide-range of GIS experience to include marking waypoints for risk maps in the mountains of rural Guatemala and flying in planes collecting, processing, and editing LiDAR data for organizations across the US. Her undergraduate degree is from Colby College with a post-baccalaureate GIS certificate from Northern Michigan University.
While mapping and map making are some of her favorite activities, Alanna also has a love for volunteering and community development. Alanna has served several tours as a Peace Corps and Peace Corps Response volunteer in Honduras, Guatemala, and Micronesia. She is also prior enlisted in the US Army Signal Corps.
Alanna was born and raised in the Upper Peninsula with a hockey stick in her hand. She loves this snowy place she calls home and tries to take advantage of its many trails and ice rinks.
