MaryEllen grew up in Liminga, lived for 25 yrs. & raised her family in Dodgeville and now lives back in her family home in Liminga. She has three children and 10 grandchildren. She graduated from Houghton High School in 1985 and later attended Suomi College (now Finlandia University), graduating in 1993 with an Associate of Applied Sciences in Criminal Justice. She enjoys gardening and also spending time with family and friends.
MaryEllen administers the Housing Rehabilitation Programs for Baraga, Houghton, Keweenaw, and Ontonagon Counties and the Rental Rehabilitation Programs for the Village of Laurium and the Village of Calumet. This involves processing applications, preparing MSHDA loans, arranging and administering construction projects and contractor payments, assisting homeowners, business owners and contractors, reporting to MSHDA’s OPAL system for all housing grants and responding to participant inquiries.
