Rachael was born and raised in Alaska and attended Michigan Tech, earning her Bachelor of Science in Geology in 2014. Since then, Rachael has interned for the North Carolina Geological Survey, and worked for University of Wisconsin in Madison, WI.  She returned to the Western Upper Peninsula with her husband and son in May 2018 and started working at WUPPDR immediately. Rachael’s planning responsibilities include:

Rachael enjoys spending time outdoors, trail hiking, gardening, cooking, beach combing, and portrait photography. She is a board member of the Lake Superior Stewardship Initiative (http://lakesuperiorstewardship.org/), provides support to the Hancock Bike & Pedestrian Committee (http://www.cityofhancock.com/docs/nonmotorplan.pdf), a member of the leadership team for the Resilient Futures Project through the Keweenaw Community Foundation (http://keweenawcommunityfoundation.org/), and also a member of Keweenaw Young Professionals (https://keweenawyp.com/).
