Bates Township Master Plan ProposedBates Township has developed a proposed Master Plan to guide long-term growth and development of the community.The plan, which is in draft status, includes components related to land use and zoning, public facilities and services, economic development, and recreation. Strategies address areas of concern such as land use, blight, public infrastructure, and economic development.The proposed plan is available for public review at http://www.wuppdr.org/resources/documents and at http://batestownship.com. Persons without internet access may view the proposed plan at the Bates Township Hall, 3070 E Hwy U.S. 2, Iron River; or at West Iron District Library, 116 W Genesee St, Iron River.Any comments must be submitted in writing to clerk@batestownship.com with subject line “Master Plan Public Comments,” or to the Bates Township Planning Commission, 3070 E Hwy U.S. 2, Iron River, MI 49935, by October 31, 2017.After comments are reviewed and considered, the Planning Commission will act to adopt the plan.
